Junior Church | St George's Church

As we are in National Lockdown the services from St George's will be on line at 10.45 each Sunday and the church is closed for public worship until the situation improves. Service sheets are on 'Whats on' page of this website. The PCC will consider the situation and when to reopen for worship at their meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. A letter from the Wakefield Medical Officer of Health is in the information below. Please pray for our community and particularly those who are working to care for those who are ill and those who are providing vaccinations as well those suffering from the wide ranging effects of Covid 19. Keep safe and help each other to keep well.

Junior Church

Junior Church has members from 5-16. They are a very important part of our church family. These young people meet during the service on the first, third and fourth Sunday of the month. They follow a programme which reflects the theme of the service in church and are always keen to share what they have learned with the adult congregation. They join the rest of the congregation for Holy Communion each week.

On the second Sunday of each month, when we have less formal worship, members of Junior Church often take part in the service by presenting readings, prayers, drama or dance. They give a great deal to the rest of the congregation and all develop their understanding of their faith and love of God through doing this.

Our young people play a full part in  the Palm Sunday Procession.

If you would like to join Junior Church or learn more about what our children do each week please use the form below to send a message to the leaders.
