Safeguarding and Child Protection | St George's Church

This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. We celebrate this as the 'Birthday of the Church' when the Holy Spirit came in power and gave the early followers of Jesus the confidence to share the good news. There will be a Pentecost service streamed on Sunday at 10.45 on Facebook by Rev Martine Crabtree. We come to the end of the series praying 'Thy Kingdom come' but we continue to pray for love of Christ Jesus to light up every corner of this dark world. We also continue to pray for those ill with Covid 19 and the people working so hard to treat them for it. There is a booklet to help us to pray about the impact of Covid 19. You can find those prayers on the 'What's on' page with the services as well as on the face book page. Join St George's for Morning Worship on Facebook at 10am Monday to Thursday and Holy Communion live streamed at 10.45 on Sundays. The prayers and readings for this service can be found on the right side bar of the 'Whats on' page. Please keep yourselves safe and if we can help you or pray for you do let us know by using the forms on this website.

Safeguarding and Child Protection

Safeguarding children and Vulnerable Adults

At St George's Church we enjoy working with our Children and Young people and we take our responsibilities to care for them very seriously. All adults working with children and young people have been cleared through the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) and there is training to ensure that everyone understands their responsibility when they are working with children. We follow diocesan guidelines about ratios of adults to children and other health and safety factors.

The PCC reviews the Child Protection policy annually. The support and guidance from the Diocese ensures that we are up to date and vigilant to keep all our children safe.

If anyone has any concerns about a child or young person at St George's Lupset they should not hesitate to speak to St George's Child Protection Officer - Freda Jackson or the Vicar - Rev'd Martine Crabtree.

On this page you can find the Church policy for Child Protection and the documents needed to ensure children are well looked after when taking part in church activities.
