Groups | St George's Church

St George's PCC met on 7th July to consider how we can safely open the church for worship. We decided that the first service back in church will be on Sunday 19th July at 10.45. There is a lot to do to prepare and information about returning to church will be posted on this page in a few days time. The online service will continue on a Sunday morning at 10.45 as we know that, at the moment, for many people coming back to the church building would not be the right thing to do. Join St George's for Morning Worship on Facebook at 10am Monday to Thursday. The prayers and readings for all the Sunday services in July can be found on the right side bar of the 'Whats on' page. We continue to pray for all those involved in working to help people recover from Covid 19 and for those searching for ways to eradicate the disease. Please keep yourselves safe and if we can help you or pray for you do let us know by using the forms on this website. There is a letter from Bishop Nick in our News posts

Groups

Many groups meet at St George's.

There are home groups which meet regularly to study and pray together. If you would like to join one of these please contact the Vicar Martine Crabtree and she will put you in touch with a group you might like to join.

The music group meets on a Tuesday evening to practice the hymns and songs for the following weeks. They are a talented bunch of people and they are always glad to have new members who would like to be involved in supporting and leading a variety of styles of worship.

The prayer group meets on a Monday to pray for the church and community. Members of the prayer team offer prayer support to those who request it and are available to pray with people at the end of Sunday morning worship.

The Saturday night group is a social club for those who have special needs and interests. It meets every week other than at Bank holidays and is greatly enjoyed by all those who attend.

Alpha is a course which explores the big questions and the basics of the Christian faith and runs twice a year at St George's.

Crafty Chat is a recent venture. A group meets to knit, sew or do other crafts which for the most part are used to help others.
