News | Community Remembrance service | St George's Church

As we are in National Lockdown and are currently asked to 'stay at home', the services from St George's will be on line at 10.45 each Sunday and the church will be closed for public worship until the situation improves. Service sheets are on 'Whats on' page of this website. The PCC will consider the situation and when to reopen for worship at their meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. A letter from the Wakefield Medical Officer of Health is in the information below. Please pray for our community and particularly those who are working to care for those who are ill and those who are providing vaccinations as well those suffering from the wide ranging effects of Covid 19. Keep safe and help each other to keep well.

Community Remembrance service

This morning some members of the community gathered with students from Springfield school and Year 6 from Snapethorpe Primary to mark the two minutes silence for Remembrance at 11.00.

The poems written and read by pupils from Snapethorpe primary were excellent and showed a real empathy with the situation. They were thoughtfully written and very well read. Thank you pupils and staff for such an excellent contribution.
