News | Visit from Rt Hon Mary Creagh MP | St George's Church

As we are in National Lockdown and are currently asked to 'stay at home', the services from St George's will be on line at 10.45 each Sunday and the church will be closed for public worship until the situation improves. Service sheets are on 'Whats on' page of this website. The PCC will consider the situation and when to reopen for worship at their meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. A letter from the Wakefield Medical Officer of Health is in the information below. Please pray for our community and particularly those who are working to care for those who are ill and those who are providing vaccinations as well those suffering from the wide ranging effects of Covid 19. Keep safe and help each other to keep well.

Visit from Rt Hon Mary Creagh MP

On  16th May our MP Mary Creagh came to St George's to meet those who run the foodbank and find out more about the work the ladies do each week.

Mary was really interested in the way we worked together to provide a range of services for the community and was particularly pleased by the dedication and determination of our ladies to help those who arrive in need of help. While at the Centre she also met those who run the lunch club and Nora and Brenda had a good chat with her over a healthy lunch.
