As we are in National Lockdown and are currently asked to 'stay at home', the services from St George's will be on line at 10.45 each Sunday and the church will be closed for public worship until the situation improves. Service sheets are on 'Whats on' page of this website. The PCC will consider the situation and when to reopen for worship at their meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. A letter from the Wakefield Medical Officer of Health is in the information below. Please pray for our community and particularly those who are working to care for those who are ill and those who are providing vaccinations as well those suffering from the wide ranging effects of Covid 19. Keep safe and help each other to keep well.

News update

Week by week we are overwhelmed by the generosity of our congregation and wider community in their regular support and donations to the food bank store.

The kindness of our the people of St George's, St James' and recently St Mary's Horbury Junction has been tremendous and those who use the food bank are extremely grateful.

Recently we were also given a very large donation from UNITE -the Union and this was a wonderful gift coming at exactly the right time. Their thoughtfulness and generosity is very much appreciated.

Week by week we are able to provide basic food for those who come on a Tuesday. The opportunity for a drink and snack is often appreciated as is someone to listen. We are here to help and share what we have with those who are having a tough time.
