Harvest gifts

As we are in National Lockdown and are currently asked to 'stay at home', the services from St George's will be on line at 10.45 each Sunday and the church will be closed for public worship until the situation improves. Service sheets are on 'Whats on' page of this website. The PCC will consider the situation and when to reopen for worship at their meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. A letter from the Wakefield Medical Officer of Health is in the information below. Please pray for our community and particularly those who are working to care for those who are ill and those who are providing vaccinations as well those suffering from the wide ranging effects of Covid 19. Keep safe and help each other to keep well.

Harvest Festival gifts for Foodbank

St George's Harvest festival had a collection for our foodbank. We have also had many generous gifts from people locally and are particularly grateful to Flanshaw Primary and The Mount schools as well as Snapethorpe Hall.

We were overwhelmed by the generosity of people who brought gifts of tinned goods and dried good to help us to provide for our clients over the next few weeks. Our shelves are stocked up again today.

Some people gave money and that will help us to keep our stocks going for a while. We thank God for giving us so much when others have so little and this is one way we can show our gratitude.
