Weddings | St George's Church

As we are in National Lockdown the services from St George's will be on line at 10.45 each Sunday and the church is closed for public worship until the situation improves. Service sheets are on 'Whats on' page of this website. The PCC will consider the situation and when to reopen for worship at their meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. A letter from the Wakefield Medical Officer of Health is in the information below. Please pray for our community and particularly those who are working to care for those who are ill and those who are providing vaccinations as well those suffering from the wide ranging effects of Covid 19. Keep safe and help each other to keep well.

Weddings at St George's

We are always delighted when a couple ask about a wedding at St George's.To share in that very special moment on that wonderful day is a real privilege and we will do all we can to make sure it is a real blessing to you and your families. In these times of Covid -19 we are required to adhere to government guidelines and these can be found here in our Risk Assessment for Weddings 2020

The planning and preparation is very important and there will be questions to ask and you will have ideas about how you want your wedding. There are plenty of ideas and lots of guidance and advice about a wedding in the Church of England if you follow this link.

When you have an idea of a possible date contact us by using the form at the foot of the page or the phone number at the top of the page. We will get back to you quickly and then discussions can start about the practicalities of your very special day.

Before you can be married Banns have to be read. This happens during a Sunday service and we will encourage you to join us to hear yours being read as we want to be able to assure you of our prayers for God's blessing on your life together.
