What's On? | St George's Church

We are in the ten days between Ascension day and Pentecost Sunday and the church worldwide is praying 'Thy Kingdom come'. The prayer is that the love of Christ Jesus would light up every corner of this dark world. During this week we are asked particularly to pray for the Covid 19 situation and St George's church is doing this every day. Find out more about 'Thy Kingdom Come' from the Church of England website where there are prayers, readings, videos, study materials and activities for our children. There is also a booklet to help us to pray about the impact of Covid 19. You can find those prayers on the 'What's on' page with the services as well as on the face book page. Join St George's for morning worship Facebook at 10am Monday to Thursday and Holy Communion live streamed from the vicarage at 10.45 on Sundays. The prayers and readings for this service can be found on the right side bar of the 'Whats on' page. Please keep yourselves safe and if we can help you or pray for you do let us know by using the forms on this website.

What's On?

St George's is a busy place and lots of things happen every day and every week. On this website you will find the times of our weekly services and meetings as well as many special events. We have groups for people of all ages and if you are interested in joining any we will be pleased to hear from you.

We work with the St George's Community Centre and they provide lots of opportunities for learning and well-being as well as a Cafe where you can drop in anytime for a coffee and a bite to eat.

With the Community Centre we are supporting the work of the Credit Union which provides a way of saving small amounts weekly and provides low interest loans to its members.

We work with Christians Against Poverty and offer Money Coaching to help people budget more effectively and also we put people in touch with CAP debt counsellors to help work through the most difficult of circumstances.

We also run a Foodbank offering emergency support to people in crisis situations. This is run by volunteers and is supported through generous donations from the church family and people in our community as well as the St George's Community Centre.
